I do like having the option of having an alternative Evernote Mac client but as it stands, this is not going to be mine. I do not and have removed it from my Mac. Also, for the cost of Alternate, you can get the Publishing pack add-in for Byword (on both Mac and iOS devices, so there's a bonus) and publish directly to Evernote, if you need the Markdown functionality and being above to send it to Evernote from within your note-taking app of choice.
